My name is Yema and I am a lurker of LHCF. I really do need to just pay my dues so that I can post.
I just wanted to say thank you! I bought the Gro Aut Oil in early April and already went through the 1oz size and just ordered a 2oz size which just arrived (I was orders # 480 and #525). Well, in short, this oil with the other two has actually allowed me to see growth exactly 12 days after my last perm which was toward the end of March. I also had a rather embarrassing mishap during the perm; I foolishly did a henna treatment immediately after (to slow the shedding during rinse-out; oh the ladies of LHCF will surely clown me!) so you know what happened... I lost hair on the front right side of my head! I was not amused. After trying everything for 5 days to jump start growth including coloring in the bald spot (very big and noticeable I might add) with eyebrow pencil, rubbing with castor oil, sulphur grease etc. I finally received Gro Aut in the mail. I put it on my scalp especially the bald area immediately. Well 3 days later, I started feeling a crawling sensation and swore that a bug was in my hair, but, that evening when I went home, I actually noticed that my natural hair, had sprouted and was coming in curly, in the exact same area that was shiny bald days ago! So the hair style I was rocking (pull back in a pony tail and bring the hair from the top to the side over forehead around to the ear to swoop and cover the bald spot) can now be pulled back normally because the new growth from the bald area is in and it is curly/wavy and just looks like an under-processed perm. As for the rest of my hair, I had to invoke the collective wisdom of the LHCF ladies that I owe my improved techniques and knowledge to and had to break out the carefree curl just to tame the undergrowth. I did that this past weekend. The crawlies in my hair is so intense that all I do is smile and pat it gently. Yes, pictures are a thousand words, so I will be paying my $6.50 this Friday to join the posting crowd and try and post a picture... I owe the ladies that much. But to you, I say thank you. Between you and Candy C I am all up on the Ayurveda Bandwagon, and am riding it till the wheels fall off. Keep promoting this. Gro Aut is definitely my staple. I don't use the shampoos or the conditioner as I use Laminates Shampoo which I got from EBay, Sebastian 9 Leave-in. For my conditioners and rinses, I typically use Milk and Honey conditioners and rinses which I order from Sickbay Biz (Dominican products) and I henna and use the shikakai and aritha "teas" once a month. I have sworn (for real this time) off of blow-drying heat with the comb and now I just air dry. Before my hair dries, while still wet I apply the Gro-Aut, Mahabringhraj, Bringhraj oils (mixed all three in a bottle) to my scalp, rub it in and also apply Fermodyl leave in and finally Sebastian 9 leave-in before combing. I spritz with a mixture of coconut oil, amla oil, shikakai oil, jasmine oil and vatika oil massage in my hair and finally seal with olive oil hair crème. I pull back wrap with a towel and I am done. It dries overnight and I wear my hair in a pony tail tucked in a human hair phony pony and off to work. I will be rocking this style until the summer when I should be below APL and just above BSL. So thank you for helping me on my way. You may post this on LHCF if you want to. Either way, I will join officially this Friday (may be Saturday, as I am going to the Steve Harvey Concert this Friday with my husband!).
