I use the gro-aut shampoo only and not in combination with the jojoba shampoo. I agree that it does have a strong herbal smell as you lather but once you rinse the shampoo out it does not smell too strong. I found that when I part my hair in sections (like I do when I apply the oils to my scalp) I am able to massage the shampoo onto my scalp easier and creates a much better lather. Start at roots and work lather to rest of hair. I only use about a nickle size amount for my whole hair.
